The card plugs into a PCI expansion slot inside the PC. It delivers up to 22Mbps wireless speed while maintaining full compatibility with IEEE 802.11b standard and operates with all IEEE 802.11b devices. The DWL-520+ card comes with a detachable antenna supporting operating ranges of up to 100 meters (328 feet) indoors and 400 meters (1,312 feet) outdoors*. When necessary, you can change to another antenna supporting larger operating ranges.
Security for wireless data transmission uses the enhanced 64/128/256-bit industry standard WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption protocol. Data privacy mechanism is based on a shared key algorithm, as described in the wireless LAN standard.
With both Wi-Fi' compatibility and IEEE 802.11b industry standard compliance, this card provides you with excellent network interoperability.
